Haleem Making Method

For Haleem recipe heat cooking oil in a very pan. Put meat within the pan add garlic, garam masala red seasoning powder, coriander powder, turmeric and salt. Cook on medium heat. In a very separate pan boil wheat grains with many water , add salt. When the grains become tender and mushy add pinch of soda in it and cook further for fifteen to twenty minutes. Now mix the wheat grains with the meat and blend well.

Stir continuously in order that both are mixed properly. Now grind the lentils in food processor. Make it thick paste by adding 2 cups of water while processing it. Pour the lentil paste in meat & wheat mixture and stir to combine. Place the pan on important griddle (tava) on low heat and cook for 30-40 minutes. Fry the sliced onion in cooking oil and drain on paper. When he Haleem is cooked, sprinkle fried onions, grama masala, fresh mint and coriander leaves. Also garnish with cumin and ginger. Keep a touch of the seasoning separate and serve with Haleem.

Ingredients for Haleem recipe

  • Wheat grains 1/2 cups (crushed and soaked in water for 1 hour)
  • Mutton or beef 1 1/2 kg
  • Gram Lentils 1 cup
  • Onions 3 (medium size)
  • Ginger and garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Garam masala 1 tbsp
  • Red chili powder 2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Cooking Oil 1 1/2 cups
  • Soda 1 pinch

Seasoning & Garnish for Haleem recipe

  • Fresh mint leaves 1 bunch
  • Fresh coriander 1 bunch
  • Green chili
  • White cumin 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • Ginger 2 (medium size)
  • Onion 1 (large seize)
  • Lemons 4
  • Cooking oil 2 cups
